STUD SCAN mode locates the edges and center of wood or metal studs in normal walls up to 3/4 inch (19 mm) deep
DEEPSCAN mode doubles the scanning depth for walls up to 1 1/2 inches (38 mm) deep, and enables scanning for joists in some ceilings and floors

ACT (Auto Correcting Technology) automatically corrects common user errors, such as when scanning begins over a stud. The tool constantly scans its surroundings and recalibrates itself if necessary.
An ultra-bright LCD screen indicates direction, edges and center of studs. Makes the screen easier to see in low-light situations.
The display screen, SpotLite Pointing System, and audio tone all indicate the location of the target.

Rating: - Worked well in my house
There may be differences in performance with some buildings where construction differs, but the Zircon worked very well in my home. I used it to mark everything out for chair railing, along with hanging points for a few heavier mirrors and pieces of art, and it found the edge and center of the studs in every wall I tried. Not sure what else I can say...it did the job well and met my expectations.
Rating: - Spend a few more $$$ and you get something that works!
I had a cheapie stud finder that was terribly unreliable. It never would repeatedly find the studs. So I ditched it and spent a few more dollars to get this unit. Okay, now we're talkin'... This unit works very well and even sports modes to find metal pipes and electrical wiring.
I especially like the LED that comes on when it determines the center of the stud. Pop a pencil in the indentation to mark the spot, scan once more to confirm, and yup, it's the same place. This unit also indicates ... Read More

This is the best scanner/stud finder I have ever used. If you take the time to read the directions and learn how it scans, it is very easy to use.
Rating: - Great product
I am extremely happy with this product. This is the third stud finder I have purchased, and it is the only one that reliably works. The other two I purchased (including a cheaper Zircon model), marked studs where non existed, and missed studs that I knew were there. This one is easy to use, contains detailed instructions, and is extremely reliable. It's definitely worth the extra $20 over the cheaper models. My walls are in much better shape now thanks to this tool!
Rating: - Do not except professional grade performance for this price.
You may be wondering, why I should pay more for similar featured BOSCH or other major brandname product, when I can have one from Zircon for $40? Believe me, the "big ones", really have advantages over cheaper models.
